1. Availability
All test-day car hire bookings are subject to instructor and vehicle availability. We cannot guarantee a particular instructor, vehicle make, model or transmission unless specifically agreed.
2. Driving Assessment
Driving Test Car Hire may require the candidate to complete an assessment lesson before accepting a test-day booking.
3. Instructor’s Right to Refuse
The instructor reserves the right to refuse use of their vehicle if they reasonably believe the candidate’s driving is unsafe, the candidate is not test-ready, or allowing the test to proceed would create an unacceptable safety risk.
4. Valid Driving Licence
Candidates must hold a valid UK provisional driving licence and must meet all DVSA requirements for taking a practical driving test.
5. Driving Test Booking
The candidate is responsible for ensuring that their practical driving test is correctly booked with the DVSA, including the correct date, time, test centre and personal details.
6. Changes to Your Test
You must tell Driving Test Car Hire as soon as possible if your test date, time or test centre changes. Vehicle/instructor availability for the new booking is not guaranteed.
7. Cancellation
A minimum of 48 hours’ notice is required for cancellation or changes to a confirmed Driving Test Car Hire test-day booking. Late cancellations may be charged in full, subject to the circumstances and applicable consumer rights.
8. DVSA Cancellation
Driving Test Car Hire is not responsible for a test cancelled, delayed or terminated by the DVSA, including cancellations caused by examiner availability, weather, test-centre issues or other circumstances outside our reasonable control. Any additional lesson or vehicle-hire arrangements will need to be agreed separately.
9. Candidate Conduct
Candidates must follow reasonable safety instructions given by their instructor. Abusive, threatening, dangerous or inappropriate behaviour may result in the booking being terminated.
10. Vehicle Damage
Candidates may be responsible for damage caused through misuse, negligence or failure to follow reasonable instructions, where permitted by law and subject to the applicable insurance arrangements.
11. Prices
The prices shown on this page are the current advertised test-day car hire prices and may be updated. The price applicable to your booking should be confirmed with Driving Test Car Hire before payment.
12. What’s Included
The exact amount of lesson/preparation time, travel time and test-day vehicle use included can vary depending on the location and booking. Please confirm exactly what is included before making payment.
13. No Pass Guarantee
Hiring a vehicle through Driving Test Car Hire or taking any lessons does not guarantee that a candidate will pass their practical driving test. The final test result is determined by the DVSA examiner.
14. Insurance & Test Eligibility
Use of a vehicle provided through Driving Test Car Hire is subject to the applicable insurance requirements and the candidate meeting all legal and DVSA eligibility requirements.
15. Traffic and Travel
Candidates should allow sufficient time for travel. Driving Test Car Hire cannot be held responsible for circumstances outside its reasonable control, such as road closures, severe traffic disruption or DVSA operational issues.
